Our Homeschool Plans, Rhythms and Schedules!

Hi friends! Thank you so much for stopping by!

Today I wanted to share how I record keep in our homeschool. I have tried so many different ways to plan, but have always returned to reverse planning. If you’re not familiar with reverse planning, it’s simply just writing down what you actually get accomplished at the end of the day instead of following a pre-written plan. This serves our family in two ways. It allows us to be flexible when it comes to accomplishing curriculum. Secondly, it takes away the stress of following a list.

With our 4 children being 7 and under our “schedule” can change every other day, and working from a formal schedule just doesn’t work for us. I wish it did, but it doesn’t. This is the printable I use to track our days and weeks. I print it off double sided and print 16 pages. A very affordable way to record keep for the year!

Listed below are all the papers mentioned in my linked video! 🙂

In our state we are required to track 180 days of homeschool. This honeybee tracker is also a fun new addition and can be downloaded and edited using the link below!

Honeybee 180 Day Tracker

To start off our days, we will be doing the same routines Monday-Friday. Below are the following charts for my 1st grader, 2nd grader, and soon-to-be 3 year old.

After our morning routines have been completed, we will then flow into our school morning and academic schedules. We tend to keep our formal curriculum more minimal, so my 1st and 2nd grader will only have three subjects to complete this year: math, language arts, and reading. We will also be doing the Five in a Row curriculum as our family subject! You will notice in my lesson plans that I have doubled up the core lessons Monday-Thursday. I did this so we wouldn’t have to do all three core subjects every single day. My hope is that it will be less overwhelming to just work from two “school books” than all three in the same day.

  3. These are really cute! Thank you for sharing them! I’m also thinking about using mcguffey readers next yr to simplify my homeschool and wondered if you are planning on using Ray’s arithmetic or something else?
