My Current Mama Favorites: Books, Makeup, Skincare & Wellness Picks

l love sharing the little things that are a part of my days—books I’m reading, simple Bible journaling tools, and beauty or wellness finds that are working well for me. Homemaking and motherhood are built on small rhythms, and I find joy in noticing what helps me feel more organized, refreshed, and/or encouraged.

So, here are my current favorites! I hope this feels like a chat between friends and maybe even introduces you to something new. Let’s dive in!

Books I’ve Been Loving 📚

I always have a book nearby—sometimes tucked in the kitchen while I wait for water to boil, other times sitting beside me while I nurse a little one or take a few quiet moments in the evening. Right now, these have been on my heart and mind:

  • Toxic Empathy by Allie Beth Stuckey – A book I read a few months ago is Toxic Empathy by Allie Beth Stuckey, and it’s been so eye-opening. She explores how empathy—something we naturally value as moms and Christians—can be twisted to pressure us into compromising biblical truth. Stuckey unpacks how this happens in areas like gender, sexuality, abortion, and social justice, reminding us that true compassion isn’t just agreeing with the world but loving people in truth. If you’ve ever felt torn between standing firm and being “empathetic,” this book is a must-read!
  • Atomic Habits by James Clear – I’ve been thinking a lot about small, consistent habits—how they shape my home, my motherhood, and my walk with the Lord. This book has been such a helpful, practical read.
  • Habits for a Sacred Home – This one has stirred my heart toward creating a home full of peace and intention. A beautiful read!

Bible Journaling Favorites

Spending time in the Word has been my anchor, and I’ve found a few little things that make it even sweeter:

  • Bible Tabs – These are beautiful and neutral.
  • Highlighters – I love marking verses that stand out to me, especially ones I want to meditate on throughout the day. These ones have a clear view window which makes them great for highlighting verses!
  • Tracing Paper – I’ve started using this to take notes in my Bible without feeling like I’m cluttering the pages. It’s been a game-changer! I will use washi tape to tape the tracing paper to the page and take notes, or even just write a simple prayer in my bible.

Supplements & Herbs for Hormone Balance 🌿

I’ve been focusing more on nourishing my body, especially in ways that support my energy and hormones naturally. Lately, I’ve been using:

  • Ashwagandha – This has been gentle yet effective in supporting my hormones.
  • Inositol – I honestly feel like every mama needs to know about this! Taking inositol has been such a game changer for me — helping with stress, balance, and overall calm. But where I’ve noticed the biggest difference is with those postpartum mood swings and the hormone shifts that come with nursing. It’s made such a positive impact on my day-to-day mood, and I wish I had known about it sooner! If you were to get one thing from the post, this would be it! Amazing supplement!

I love learning about how natural remedies can support our bodies the way God designed them to.

Makeup Favorites 💄

I love having a few go-to products that make me feel fresh and put together (even on the busiest days). These have been my favorites lately:

  • Elf Halo Glow – It gives such a soft, natural glow. It doesn’t have any fragrance, so it works well with my sensitive skin. It’s beautiful if you like a glowy base.
  • Pixi Eye Brightener – Great for covering dark circles.
  • Half Caked Bronzer – A beauty glowy bronzer!
  • Meret Bronzer Stick – A creamy and natural bronzer in a stick form. I use this when I need to get ready for the day in 5-10 minutes!
  • & Blush – The perfect combo for looking awake and alive (even when I’m running on little sleep).
  • RMS Beauty Living Luminizer – A dewy highlight that gives a beautiful glow. This Half Caked one is just as good and much more affordable!
  • Colourpop Eyeshadow (Ritz & Amaze shades) & Moira Eyeshadow Palette – Just enough shimmer to brighten my eyes.
  • Pixi Setting Spray – Keeps my makeup in place while feeling light and refreshing.
  • Kosas Setting Powder – I never wore powder, until I found this product! It keeps my cream products in place all day without feeling like I’m wearing anything.
  • Elf Brow Gel – Affordable and works great!
  • Mascara – Using this up and have really enjoyed it!
  • Trader Joe’s Lip Mask – If you have a Trader Joes near you, this is a beautiful lip balm!

Skincare Favorites 🌿

My current favorites:

  • & Cleanser – A simple, gentle way to cleanse my skin at the end of the day. (I found that double cleansing helps keep my skin clean and clear)
  • Paula’s Choice Liquid Exfoliant: – A staple in my skin-care routine. I have used this for about two years now.
  • La Roche-Posay Moisturizer – Hydrating without feeling heavy.
  • Vitamin E Oil – I use this every single night after moisturizer.
  • Castor Oil – Used at night all over my face, especially around my eyes.
  • & Rosehip Seed Oil I mix this in my moisturizer in the morning. I love how nourishing these are, especially in the winter months.
  • Liquid Lanolin: The best eye “cream” and night time lip “mask”. It’s so rich, and just the tiniest bit goes a long way!
